Book early for next year! Tickets for ADANA'S annual summer party held 18 July and hosted by John and Henry of Cortijo la Vizcaronda, Duquesa were a sell out!

Theme this year was an Indian Night and guests, many in Indian dress, sat at candlelit tables in the Cortijo's charming gardens where an open bar run brilliantly by Trish and friend, Carol, netted a record sale!


Sunset Stroll - 27 June

ADANA's Sunset Stroll 27 June 2014 ADANA held a sunset stroll fundraiser on Friday, 27 June with a stroll along the Estepona's promenade.

The evening was a great success. 10 dogs from ADANA itself were walked (can you imagine how amazing that must have felt to them?), plus 26 other people turned up to walk their own dogs and a few without a dog.

The volunteers distributed 300 leaflets regarding the importance of castration and the special July offer naming the three vets that will give a discount for this.

The sun shone, the beaches were packed, yet the annual ADANA Dog Show at the Palacio de Congresos on 4 May 2014 pulled in the crowds as usual.

Show organiser Jo Melville said she was delighted with the turnout. 'ADANA is funded entirely by the public and the Dog Show is not only an important fundraiser but also an opportunity to inform the public of the work we do.


ADANA Lives the Estepona Streets

ADANA lives the Estepona Streets The streets of Estepona were packed with locals and tourists enjoying the 'Estepona Vive Sus Calles' (Estepona lives its Streets) event on a sunny April Sunday and ADANA was there too.

Melanie, Fiona, Fernando and Abraham were busy rattling the collecting tins, selling merchandise and giving out leaflets explaining ADANA's work and talking about the dogs waiting for forever homes.

Great ADANA Dog March raises money and awareness

Over seventy happy dogs and their owners marched through Estepona on Saturday, 22 March, in an hour-long walk from the Estepona Palacio de Congresos to the Port.

The March, which was organised by ADANA Board member Michele Yanez-Bowker, was aimed at raising funds and more importantly public awareness of the work of ADANA.


Spanish Civil War talk by Isabel Howat - Feb 18 2014

Isabel Howat in the Press Room The Press Room in the Padre Manuel Centre Estepona was full to capacity on the evening of 18 February to hear a talk by local resident Isobel Howat on the Spanish Civil War. Mrs. Howat, who was born in Scotland and who spends part of the year in her El Paraiso apartment and the other in her native Glasgow, held the audience spell-bound with her journey through Spanish history focusing on the dreadful years of civil war 1936 to 1939.

ADANA Christmas Fair - 1 Dec 2013

ADANA held its annual Christmas Fair on 1 December 2013 at the Estepona Palacio de Congresos. Just under €5,000 was raised to help meet the ever-increasing costs of running the kennels.

The event was organized by Jayne Fisher, Sandra Sprawston and Paula Read. 'We were really pleased to see more visitors from the Spanish community,' said Jayne, who added that ADANA was grateful to the Estepona Ayuntamiento for the use of the Palacio.
