Quarterly meeting - 17 Jan 2017

ADANA held the second of its regular quarterly meetings at the Padre Manuel Centre Estepona in mid-January on the topic of fundraising.

About fifteen people attended on a cold night and we were pleased to welcome supporter and happy Mum of Freddie, a former ADANA dog, Karen Williamson, who presented a very good idea for a dog-sitting service. Other ideas came from ADANA Volunteer Shellie Outram with her plan to take ADANA dogs to a coffee morning in Manilva with the aim of encouraging interest and possible adoptions.

ADANA Christmas Fair - 20 Nov 2016

Palacio de Congresos, Estepona, 10.30am to 4pm.
The Christmas Fair was a huge success. The dogs and humans had a wonderful time and we raised nearly €8,500.

Thanks to Trish Mansfield and all who helped make the day so rewarding and enjoyable.

EGM and open meeting - 26 Sept 2016

Room packed for EGM and open meeting

Extra chairs had to be brought into the meeting room at the Padre Manuel Centre Estepona for the thirty plus members who attended. The meeting unanimously voted to accept the amended statutes and to approve the sale of the Sanctuary land on the Estepona - Casares border as well as giving Treasurer Reg Winkworth authority to renogiate the terms of the mortgage.

President Mary Page, who chaired the meeting, said that disposing of the land at the best obtainable price would put a final end to the ill-conceived Sanctuary project.

Last Night of the Proms - 10 Sept

Over a hundred guests plus helpers celebrated the Last Night of the Proms in great style with a dinner and fashion show at La Vizcaronda, Manilva on 10 September 2016.

Fashion Show and Lunch - 4 May

Fresh from organising and running the popular cafe at the dog show, the indomitable Trisha Mansfield once again organized a fantastically successful event at the Guadalmina Golf Club on 4 May. Trisha would be the first to admit that she had many helpers including CJ and her sister who spent over 40 hours sorting out clothes.

26th Annual ADANA Dog Show - 24 April

The 26th ADANA dog show was held at the Palacio de Congresos in Estepona on Sunday 24th April. There were 20 different classes, the Judges Favourite proving to be the most popular but also including, best ex-ADANA dog, dog with the waggiest tail and agility classes. This years Best in Show went to Brooklyn a rescue dog owned by Alvaro Infante, many congratulations to you both.

Night at the Races - 26 March

Saturday 26th March at The Roadhouse Sports and Music Bar.

"Something different it certainly was! If you happened to be passing the Roadhouse Sports and Music Bar on the 26th March you most certainly would have heard the 50 or so race goers cheering on their favorite horses as they enjoyed the eight races that took place throughout the evening.

3rd Annual March March - 13 March

Once again we held our March March. This is the third year we have organized this event and each year it grows in size. Primarily we use it to showcase our dogs and to promote shelter dogs to local residents, hopefully promoting the ethos of 'don't shop, adopt'. It is also an ideal opportunity to publicize the work that ADANA does and raise our profile within the community.
