ADANA (Association for the Rights of Abandoned Animals) is a charity run by unpaid volunteers.

ADANA operates a dog shelter, on property owned by the local government and run by ADANA employees and volunteers.

ADANA also operates a second -hand shop in Estepona, and a stall at the Sunday market at Sabinillas, run by volunteers. All events, and stalls are organised and run by volunteers.

Great success of the 19th ADANA Dog Show

ADANA celebrated its 19th Dog Show last Sunday 13 September in the Car Park of Los Pedregales Park, Estepona. It was a great success: lots of dogs took part in the different competitions, families enjoyed a great day out and ADANA raised funds to continue working for the benefit of abandoned animals.

ADANA would like to thank all the people who attended and all the volunteers who made this fantastic event possible with their hard work. Also, thank you very much to all our sponsors: for the first time, all costs were covered by sponsorship, which means that all money spent at the Dog Show will go directly to help our dogs! Thank you everyone!

Special Notice

We have had an enormous increase in the number of dogs admitted to our care in the last weeks. We have 147 dogs including 20 puppies. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot accept any more dogs until that number is reduced. Our capacity is supposed to be around 80 dogs.

Please help us to get these wonderful dogs new homes as soon as possible to make room for the next batch of unfortunate animals who are left to fend for themselves. You can see all our dogs on line.

Back in business

We are now operating from our old kennels in Los Pedregales park. They have been magnificently refurbished by Estepona Council.

Our opening hours are 10.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday and 10.00 to 13.00 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

ADANA 100 Club

In order to raise funds for our work we have started a 100 Club. For this to work we need 100 people to subscribe 5€ per month with the chance to win 200€ at the end of each month. You may hold as many shares as you like at 5€ each. Shareholders do not need to be members of ADANA. The draw will be made at the coffee mornings in Plaza Manilva in Estepona on the last Friday of the month. Winners will be notified by phone or e mail. The first draw will take place when we have 100 members signed up. In December there will be double prizes with one prize of 200€ and two of 100€.
