I have been a part of the ADANA volunteers now, for over twenty one years. At first I was helping out in only a part-time capacity. I mostly organized fund raisers and coffee mornings, as I was a working mother with a young child.

Animals have always been a passion of mine, as a child, you could not keep me away from the local farm. I would do anything to be able to help. And then as a teenager, I befriended a goose, and soon after, I gave up eating meat forever.

I always give 100 percent when I am working for ADANA. But I believe these dogs give me so much more back in return

Susi is a key part of Adana's team. You will always find her at the shelter with a smile helping everyone. She handles the vet visits, foster home visits, new arrivals, and phone calls or emails. She has also gone to the dog pound at the Local police to collect abandoned dogs that no one has claimed.

Apart from all that, she is at the top of communication, and she writes the monthly newsletter (if you haven't subscribed yet, you can still do it here), Facebook posts, and reply as many emails as she can.
