Meet Kipper

Kipper arrived at Adana as one of five tiny puppies, just about six weeks old, and has sadly never known life beyond the shelter. Fast-forward a couple of years and that tiny puppy has grown into a handsome, lively, affectionate young dog who absolutely loves people. In fact, he loves them so much that his idea of saying hello can involve his entire body! If you're not paying attention, he may well bundle you over in his enthusiasm - but at least you'll know you've received the full Kipper welcome package, complete with wagging tail, kisses and boundless affection.

He is a happy chappy, gets on really well with his penmates and loves nothing more than having a good romp around and a play. At the moment, his partner in crime is Ander, who you can see appearing alongside him in the photos below. Kipper is also always very eager to be chosen when the leads come out. He walks pretty well, although there's still plenty of scope for some consistent training to help him learn that walks are about more than simply being delighted to be out!

Kipper is a clever boy - he watches you intently with those bright, thoughtful eyes, and sometimes you could swear he's trying to understand every word you say. Perhaps he is simply trying to work out whether you've finally come to tell him that he's been chosen, or (most likely) if you might have a treat hidden somewhere... Whatever, there is something wonderfully engaging about Kipper - he really wants to connect with people and would thrive with someone prepared to give him the time, structure and encouragement to reach his full potential.

Belgian Shepherds are intelligent, energetic dogs who generally love having something to do. They're often happiest when they're included in family life, given plenty of mental stimulation and taught through positive, consistent training. Kipper doesn't need someone looking for a perfectly polished dog from day one; he needs someone who will enjoy helping him become one. Give him boundaries, purpose, exercise and plenty of interaction, and we think you'll see this bright boy really start to shine.

After spending virtually his entire life waiting, Kipper deserves to discover what it's like to have a real home, a soft bed, his own people and a life that extends beyond the shelter gates.
