Rex 2

Rex 2 is the kind of dog you notice in stages. At first, he hangs back slightly in the lively chaos of his shared pen, cheering from the sidelines while the other boys throw themselves headfirst into kennel politics. He arrived with two other dogs from a shelter that could no longer care for them, carrying that air of a dog who’s seen a few things and decided there’s no need to rush introductions... But don’t mistake this for shyness. The moment there’s excitement brewing - a visitor at the gate, leads appearing for walkies, other dogs causing a bit of drama - Rex is suddenly right there, fully engaged and ready to join the committee.

He’s middle-aged in the best possible ways - he´s a fine dog - but young enough to still be full of beans. Walks are high on his priority list, and he’s pretty good on lead too, striding along with that unmistakable Belgian Shepherd presence - elegant, and alert. He likes carrying a tennis ball for company and while water is deeply fascinating, actual swimming remains beneath him for the time being. He’ll inspect the stream, have a shallow dip and supervise from the shoreline.

Belgian Shepherds are remarkable dogs for the right people. Intelligent, loyal, and wonderfully observant, they don’t just live alongside you - they become part of your everyday life. They thrive on companionship, activity, and having a role, whether that’s on long walks and adventures, or simply shadowing you around the house with quiet vigilance. Rex has that classic shepherd mind - thoughtful, switched-on, and full of personality once you get to know him. He may not throw himself into your lap on day one, but he’s the kind of dog who reveals more of himself with every walk, every routine and every shared cuddle.
