Romeo

Meet Romeo

A handsome Malinois cross who arrived at Adana from another centre that was not in a position to care for him, Romeo is one of those dogs who seems to have been born believing that every human he meets is a potential source of affection. He greets everyone with a smile and a look that practically says, “Well, are you going to fuss me or what?!” A few of his more assertive penmates often barge him out of the way, but Romeo is remarkably easy-going, considering, and simply waits for another opportunity to get his turn. When you’re cleaning his pen, he’ll follow you around patiently, with the occasional nudge, making sure you don’t forget that he’s still waiting for his share of attention.

With his gorgeous deep red-brown and black coat, warm eyes and handsome face, Romeo is a real head-turner, but it’s his lovely nature that makes him so special. He mixes happily with other dogs and is always ready to join in when something exciting is happening - and sharing with four energetic boys means there’s rarely a shortage of action. When the leads come out, Romeo is absolutely determined that his name should be at the top of the walkies list, and that initial enthusiasm can require a firm, consistent hand until the excitement settles. He is an intelligent boy though, and very partial to a treat, so with some patient training and consistency we think he´ll soon become a much more relaxed walking companion.

Like most Malinois type dogs, Romeo will need more than a quick walk around the block. He’ll thrive with people who enjoy an active dog and can give him plenty of exercise, training, games and opportunities to use his clever brain, while making him part of everyday life. Give him the structure, activity and companionship he needs, and in return you’ll have a devoted, cheerful dog who is genuinely delighted to be with you.

We really love this boy, and Romeo has so much love to give - he deserves a special someone. Could you be the person who gives this handsome fellow the home he’s been waiting for?

If you think Romeo could be your boy, please get in touch with Adana and come and meet him.
