Meet Alaska

When Alaska was found wandering alone in the El Padrón area, she was just 6 or 7 months old. It's hard not to wonder what happened to her. At such a young age, finding yourself alone in the world must have been terrifying. Yet somehow, despite whatever brought her to us, Alaska arrived with her trust in people completely intact.

In fact, she's one of those dogs who seems determined to make friends with everyone she meets.

We suspect Alaska has plenty of Mastín in her heritage, but there's also something about her expression, her colouring, and that mischievous sparkle in her eyes that makes us think there may be a touch of Malamute in the mix too. It seemed only fitting to name her Alaska.

Whatever her breed combination, someone clearly cared for her at some point. She arrived in good health, well nourished, and with the most wonderful temperament. She absolutely adores human attention and has the sweetest habit of gently leaning her whole body into you when she's looking for affection. It's impossible not to fall for her.

And then there are those eyes.

Seriously, don't look into them unless you're prepared for the consequences. Alaska has mastered the art of the soulful gaze, accompanied by a range of hilarious facial expressions that somehow manage to be both adorable and persuasive at the same time.

She's also a very social girl who enjoys the company of other dogs and mixes well with her canine friends. Whether she's playing, exploring, or simply hanging out, Alaska approaches life with the enthusiasm and optimism that only a young dog can bring.

Although many visitors assume she's already an adult because of her size, the reality is quite different. Alaska is still very much a puppy. A very large puppy!

Those enormous paws tell us she still has some growing to do, and whoever adopts her should be prepared for a big dog with an even bigger heart. Mastín-type dogs are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and devotion to their families. They often grow into calm, affectionate companions, but like all large breeds, they need consistent training, guidance, and socialisation as they mature. Right now, Alaska is at that wonderful age where she's soaking up new experiences and learning about the world around her.

She is currently learning to walk on a lead and, so far, she's doing brilliantly. There is still work to do, of course, but she is eager to learn and responds beautifully to encouragement and positive training.

Alaska is the complete package: beautiful, affectionate, sociable, funny, and full of potential. She's looking for a family who will embrace all the joy, excitement, occasional chaos, and unconditional love that comes with sharing your life with a giant puppy.
