Shula

Meet Shula

Shula has already had far more upheaval in her young life than any puppy should. At barely six weeks old, she was found alongside her equally tiny brother, Trip, after the pair had been left behind in an empty house when their owner moved away. Thankfully, they were rescued just in time, and the two little survivors came to us to begin their journey towards a safer, happier life.

With her beautiful ginger coat, slightly scruffy white beard and wonderfully expressive face, Shula is a modern girl through and through. She has style, personality and, apparently, a very strong commitment to personal hygiene - particularly yours! Shula absolutely loves giving your face a thorough clean, followed by a second inspection just to make sure she hasn't missed a spot. She's affectionate, engaging and full of those lovely little puppy moments that make you smile without even realising it.

Like her brother, Shula was lucky enough to find a home, and we were so happy to think that her difficult beginning was finally behind her. Sadly, as she grew, she too was returned to us through no fault of her own. So, once again, she finds herself back at the shelter, trying to make sense of another big change when all she really should have been doing is growing up surrounded by the people who love her.

Despite everything, Shula has so much to give. She’s young and full of fun and playfulness, and it’s lovely to watch her personality unfold as she learns about the world. What she needs now is not another temporary chapter, but her people - the kind of family who will see beyond the slightly chaotic puppy stage, give her the time and guidance she needs as she grows, and make a lifelong commitment to her.

It's worth remembering that bringing a pup into your home isn't always the easy, cuddly experience the photos might suggest! Shula is still very much a puppy, which means there will be energy, curiosity, mischief and plenty of moments when she'll need reminding that your favourite shoes are not, in fact, chew toys. Toilet training may need reinforcing, boundaries will need to be established, and she'll need plenty of patience, consistency, socialisation and positive guidance as she learns how to be part of a family. There will be dirty paws, interrupted routines and probably a few “what have we done?” moments along the way. But there will also be the enormous reward of watching her grow in confidence, learn new things and become the wonderful companion she's capable of being.

We're hoping Shula's next home will be the one that finally sticks. Her soulmate is out there somewhere: someone who will appreciate her ginger good looks, her scruffy little beard, her enthusiasm for face-washing and, most importantly, the wonderful dog she is waiting to become.

Come and meet her, spend a little time getting to know this gorgeous girl, and see if you might just be the special one she's been waiting for.
