Meet Starsky

Meet Starsky - one of a pair of little potatoes who were found abandoned in Manilva at around 11 weeks old. Along with his brother Hutch, he arrived looking rather cute, perfectly pudgy and, quite frankly, utterly adorable. We’re not entirely sure what their family tree looks like, but those enormous paws and solid little builds are giving us a few clues. We suspect there’s some Mastín lurking in there somewhere, and if those feet are anything to go by, Starsky may well grow into a rather substantial boy!

For now, though, he’s simply a gorgeous, happy puppy who loves attention, enjoys a good game and is always ready for some affection. He has a lovely temperament and that irresistible combination of puppy softness, curiosity and complete faith that everyone he meets is there especially for him.

But... puppies. And these puppies could potentially become big puppies. Starsky may look like the perfect little bundle right now, but there is a lot of growing up still to do. There will be chewing, exploring, learning, the occasional forgotten rule and quite possibly a few moments when you wonder who is actually training whom! He’ll need patience, consistency and plenty of time to learn what life is all about.

And if Starsky does grow into the large dog we suspect he will, it’s worth thinking beyond the puppy stage too. A big dog needs space, exercise, training and an owner who is comfortable living with a dog who may eventually take up a fair bit of room - on the sofa, in the car and quite possibly in your heart. Preparing for the adult dog he could become is just as important as enjoying the adorable puppy in front of you now.
