Meet Sally

Sally is making fantastic progress and is turning into quite the little character!

She is learning all about the world around her, slowly gaining confidence, and is great socialising with her pen mates. She's also very happy to share her food and toys – a sure sign of a well-mannered young lady.

When it's time to clean her pen, Sally becomes our shadow. She follows us everywhere, making sure we are carrying out our duties to her satisfaction. Try to give her a stroke, however, and she'll scoot away as if to say, "Oh no, we're not at that stage yet!"

Then, a few seconds later, she'll be right behind you again, supervising your every move.

Like her sister Ellie, Sally is curious and friendly, but still likes to keep a little mystery about her. She wants to know exactly what you're doing, where you're going, and whether there might be snacks involved – but she'd rather make the first move when it comes to actual contact.

As a Podenco, Sally has all the wonderful qualities that make this breed so special. Podencos are intelligent, gentle souls who are incredibly loyal to the people they love. They are often described as "velcro dogs" once they've formed a bond with their family, choosing to be close by, whether that's joining you on an adventure or curling up nearby for a well-earned snooze. They are sensitive, affectionate dogs who thrive on kindness and positive encouragement. Podencos can sometimes be a little cautious when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but once they learn to trust, they give their whole hearts. Watching them blossom in a loving home is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable.

Sally is still discovering that humans can be pretty wonderful, too. Every day she grows a little braver, a little more curious, and a little more ready to embrace all the love that life has to offer.

She is looking for a family who will give her the time and patience she needs to continue building her confidence and who will delight in celebrating all of her little victories along the way.

One day, the little pup who scoots away from an outstretched hand will become the dog who follows you from room to room, rests her head on your lap, and wonders how she ever lived without you.
