Alicia

Meet Alicia, a beautiful deep-bronze Podenco with the striking olive-coloured eyes - the sort of eyes that seem to look right into you, as though she’s quietly taking your measure. Found in Estepona, she arrived a little unsure of the world around her, but she´s been with us for a while now, and has gradually been discovering that life can be kind and that people can be trusted.

Alicia is naturally gentle and a little reserved, preferring to watch from the sidelines before deciding that something - or someone - is worth investigating. She doesn’t rush into new friendships, but once she feels comfortable, you can see her soft personality beginning to emerge. There’s a lovely sweetness to her, and we suspect that behind those bright eyes is a girl with plenty more to show, once she feels safe enough to let her personality out.

Like many Podencos, Alicia is bright, sensitive and wonderfully observant, with a natural curiosity about the world around her. Give her time, patience and gentle encouragement, and she will gradually become more confident, discovering the joys of walks, exploring, play and all the little things that make life interesting. Podencos can form incredibly strong bonds with their people, and Alicia is likely to be one of those dogs who quietly chooses her person and then sticks to them like a little shadow.

She may not be the dog who rushes to the front of the queue, but there is something rather special about watching a shy dog realise that she is safe. Alicia has the potential to blossom into a wonderfully affectionate companion, and we would love to see her discover just how good life can be with someone who gives her the time she needs.
