Eloise

Meet Eloise...

We couldn't really see Eloise when she first arrived at the shelter - she came in more fleas than pup! Thankfully, a flea treatment worked its magic and what followed can only be described as a flea tsunami. As they disappeared, a beautiful little dog emerged from underneath, and what a lovely surprise she was.

We've decided Eloise is a Bavarian Mountain Hound (or at least very much looks the part!), with a gorgeous dark reddish-brown and black coat that will be absolutely divine once she's fully restored to her former glory. Her ears and tail are a little moth-eaten and raggedy, hinting at a past we'll probably never know, but this young girl wears her scars with grace. Despite whatever life has thrown at her, Eloise remains sweet, trusting, and endlessly affectionate.

This tiny treasure adores attention and cuddles from all directions, and is always delighted to be around new canine friends too - she runs around happily with dogs of all shapes and sizes, never seeming to notice her own diminutive stature.

As a hound-type dog, Eloise will enjoy plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and investigate the world around her. Bavarian Mountain Hounds are known for being loyal, intelligent, and closely bonded to their people, so her future family should expect a companion who wants to be involved in daily life rather than left on the sidelines. Gentle exercise, interesting walks, and lots of love will suit her perfectly.

Eloise has clearly had a difficult start, but she's looking firmly forwards, not backwards. Now all she needs is a family who can see past the raggedy edges and recognise the beautiful little soul underneath. We think whoever adopts Eloise is going to be very, very lucky indeed.
