Meet Hikaru

Hikaru is one of those dogs who reminds you just how resilient animals can be. He arrived at the shelter with some horrendously infected injuries, most likely sustained after becoming caught on something while wandering and desperately trying to free himself. It must have been a frightening and painful ordeal, but thanks to intensive treatment, lots of care and his zest for life, his recovery has been nothing short of incredible.

Today, you would never guess what this handsome boy has been through. His wounds are healing beautifully, he's feeling better every day, and he's embraced life with a joy that's impossible not to fall in love with. His past certainly hasn't defined him - instead, it's made us admire him even more.

From the very first day he arrived, Hikaru has greeted everyone exactly the same way: a wagging tail, a huge smile on his face and those irresistible "please love me" eyes that melt hearts in an instant. He genuinely seems delighted to meet every person he sees and has so much affection to give. He's the kind of dog who makes you feel like you've been friends forever.

Hikaru is Miguelito's brother, and between them they have charmed everyone at the shelter. We honestly can't say enough wonderful things about this beautiful boy. He's gentle, loving, incredibly forgiving and has the sweetest nature imaginable. Despite everything life has thrown at him, he's chosen to trust people, and that says everything about the dog he is.

Now all Hikaru needs is the happy ending he truly deserves - a family who will treasure him, spoil him with love, and remind him every day that his wandering days are behind him. We have no doubt that whoever is lucky enough to adopt this absolute gem will wonder how they ever lived without him.
