Meet Olin!

Olin is one of ten Spanish Water Dog cross puppies - six girls and four boys - who were heartbreakingly discovered, abandoned in a crate, at the gate to the track leading up to Adana. Despite such a rotten start to life, these puppies are remarkably healthy, full of curiosity, and already showing their affectionate, playful personalities. At only around 7 weeks old, they are still tiny, but their characters are already beginning to shine through.

Spanish Water Dogs are known for being incredibly intelligent, loyal, and full of fun. Traditionally bred in Spain as hardworking farm and water-retrieving dogs, they thrive on companionship and love being part of family life. They’re energetic, eager to learn, and form very strong bonds with their humans. Although a crossbreed, Olin is likely to inherit that wonderful mix of brains, affection, and playful spirit that makes Spanish Water Dogs such rewarding companions. He’ll grow into a dog who will enjoy adventures, games, cuddles on the sofa, and being included in everyday life.

There are also some fascinating things about Spanish Water Dogs that you might not know! Their distinctive curly coats were traditionally never brushed - instead, the coat naturally formed cords over time, almost like a poodle-meets-dreadlocks look. Historically they were used not only for herding sheep and goats, but also for helping fishermen by retrieving nets and lost items from the water - they are excellent swimmers. They are also highly regarded for their problem-solving skills and quick learning ability, which means they excel at agility, scent work, and interactive games. Life with a "Turco Andaluz" mix is rarely boring!

Puppies are a long-term commitment, and active, intelligent breeds like Spanish Water Dog types need training, socialisation, exercise, and plenty of love as they grow.
