Meet Perry

A pint-sized bundle of fun, mischief and excitement - he somehow manages to fit an enormous personality into such a tiny body.

Perry was found in the Estepona area with his sister, Pinky, both of them around 14 weeks old. Thankfully, despite whatever had happened to bring these two little ones to us, they arrived in good health and ready to get on with the very important business of being puppies. And Perry has clearly decided that life is far too short for standing around quietly!

He's cute as a button, full of curiosity and always ready to investigate whatever is happening around him. At this age, everything is exciting - a new smell, a new person, a new toy, another puppy to pounce on… and possibly someone's nose. Perry is at that lovely stage where his character is really starting to emerge, and we suspect there will be plenty more fun, games and cheekiness to come.

Chihuahuas may be tiny, but nobody has ever told them that. Originally from Mexico, the breed became hugely popular in Europe and has long been a favourite companion dog. In Spain, as elsewhere, Chihuahuas and Chihuahua crosses are sadly often surrendered or abandoned, sometimes because people underestimate just how much personality and energy can come in such a small package. Their size can make them look like easy little dogs, but they are not toys - they still need training, socialisation, exercise and plenty of mental stimulation.

And a Chihuahua puppy is, of course, still a puppy! Perry will need someone prepared for the usual puppy package - toilet training, chewing, learning boundaries, discovering that not everything in the house is a toy and gradually growing into a confident little adult. Because he is so small, he'll also need sensible handling and training around, bigger, boisterous dogs while he's growing up.

But get all that right and you can expect a companion who thinks he's considerably larger than he actually is, who will happily become involved in absolutely everything you do and who will probably have very firm opinions about where he should be sitting.
