Meet Solana!

Solana was found roaming near a motorway underpass and was brought to safety by a kind-hearted person who just couldn´t leave her there. What happened before that, we may never know, but one thing is certain: whatever her story, Solana has absolutely no intention of letting it dampen her enthusiasm for life.

This young Podenco is funny, curious, entertaining, and permanently interested in absolutely everything, Solana has the remarkable ability to brighten even the dullest day. If something is happening, she wants to be involved. If nothing is happening, she'll probably invent something.

Despite her rather compact little legs (if we're still allowed to mention such things!), Solana is convinced she can keep up with anyone and anything. She's already charging around with some of our other smaller dogs, joining in every game, adventure, and opportunity for fun. Watching her zoom about with complete confidence is enough to make anyone smile. She approaches life with the sort of optimism most of us can only dream of.

Like many Podencos in Spain, Solana may have found herself unwanted, but that says far more about humans than it does about her. Podencos have traditionally been used for hunting, and sadly thousands find themselves abandoned or surrendered every year. Those lucky enough to share their lives with one know what wonderful companions they make. Intelligent, affectionate, playful, and deeply loyal, Podencos thrive in loving homes where they can be part of the family.

Solana is still young and has her whole life ahead of her. She's looking for a family who will appreciate her sense of fun, laugh at her antics, and provide all the love and security she deserves. In return, she'll bring endless entertainment, plenty of affection, and a daily reminder that life is best approached with a wagging tail and a sense of adventure.
