Zoological Update - June 2022

Adana does not receive any financial assistance from National or Local Government, and we have financed independently the total new zoological project, and the running of the Shelter from public donations alone, assisted by the good will and hard work of the volunteers.

The total cost for all the new project is 188,000.00 € we have raised 136,100.00 euros so far, and have to generate another 51,900.00 euros to complete the project.

Your donations also help us rescue over 400 puppies and dogs a year, with the assistance of the Adana Volunteers.

SOLAR ELECTRICAL

We have installed an extra 3000 watts of controls with 8 new panels single phase ( making a total of 12,000 watts of power 230 volt ) this is in anticipation of new maintenance equipment and an electrical vehicle in the future so as to support larger power demand.

We have also installed an extra 9,000 watts (9 kilowatt) 3 phase 400 volts for powering the new sewage system (Depuradora), this unit will, when installed, actively process the effluent waste products, bio degradable for the whole of the shelter. Total electrical panels (PV) installed will be 36.​

FLOOD PROTECTION

We are installing flood protection channels on the North side of the Shelter , to divert and re route the excessive water discharge caused by intensive rain storms that occur discharging from the mountain above , and if all the predictions of climate change are correct this precaution is required now and not when the damage is done - 80% complete.​

NEW ENVIRONMENT ROOF COVERING 10 PATIOS

For sun exposure and rain protection on south and west patios for the health and safety of the dogs and puppies in our care. We are 80% complete.
